Hellverse Final Numbers, Dumb Poll, etc

Finally, from nacchan here at IchiRuki FC at BA, the final numbers on Hellverse are in. According to zack_mori (twitter name for Bleach anime soundman) today is the last day for the movie to play in the theatres). Hellverse didn't make as much money in its closing sums as Memories of Nobody, Diamond Dust Rebellion, or Fade to Black.

The best movie of the bunch rakes in the least money? Annie remembers that I predicted that it wouldn't do as well as FTB because of repeat business. I'm sad for Kubo-sensei to be right. After reading summaries of Hellverse I do believe it to be a well-made movie with lots of devotion to the authenticity of the characters, great fights and a little something for everyone... I don't believe that the absence of the Shinigami OR the presence of Orihime were that much a deciding factor in the movie's relative failure compared to DDR and FTB. I do believe that the repeat success of DDR and FTB had to do with the fervor of their respective fandoms (Hitsugaya and IchiRuki).

Sorry to butt in here. Gray/Juvia might be one-sided at the moment, but what I love most about the pairing is how it all started with Gray stopping Juvia's rain (which reminds me of a certain ship *cough*). Besides, Juvia's "childlike" attitude and "obliviousness" is... I admit, cute. She's a very likable character as well. And clueless Gray isn't helping. XD;

I guess, for IchiOri, their small fanbase is nothing new -- however, they scream the loudest, those desperate people. I can't unsee what I discovered in BA. >.>; Also, it's mostly self-insertion for their ship, so... *shrugs*

And why am I not surprised that this movie isn't selling very well? D: /feels evil

Mod warning--careful, we're getting into bashing generalizations here. "Desperate people" and the like. We can't make such generalizations about an entire group of shippers. Not all people who ship Ichigo and Orihime are even involved in fandom, let alone nosily or desperately, and it never gets us anywhere when we start namecalling this way.

You're right, I never saw it that way, but IchiRuki and Gray/Juvia have this indeed in common.
And yeah, Juvia, and by extension, Gray/Juvia is popular because many people find her cute (which seems to be also true for the Japanese fans).

But I mainly used this pairing as an example to show that this type of pairing can be popular with Japanese fans.
