Yammi taking a prat fall to the bottom floor? He's going to meet up with CHAD, his proper opponent and leave Ishida and Orihime to go find the hougyoku, he is! I didn't think it was possible for me to love Ishida more, and yet I do. Hime, where are you? I love how Ishida and Ichigo snark. And Ulquiorra the Jailer. What in world will his release look like? We'll be guessing ALL WEEK! Space and Annie say that "imprison" may be a better translation than "lock."

Not exactly. It's obvious Ishida has feelings for Inoue, while Ichigo hasn't shown any outward feelings for Inoue. You could make the same assertion for Ichigo/Rukia, but it's plain as day to see how Ichigo/Rukia single each other out whenever they are with each other, and even when they AREN'T with each other. With Ichigo and Inoue thus far, Ichigo hasn't given her any reassuring words. Inoue doubted Ichigo until Nel reassured her, and now Ichigo is to a degree doubting Inoue's ability to take care of herself. Hence why he mentions that Ishida protect Inoue because he isn't sure her shield can defend against his reiatsu. This is ironic because it was Ichigo who saw Inoue's shield first hand when she protected Yachiru from Nnoitra's errant attacks and he was protected by her and prevented from getting a fatal blow from Ulquiorra.

I don't think it's just Kubo joking around, but showing the doubt that makes itself known in Ichigo and Inoue's relationship. Inoue and Ishida's interactions in the SS arc had NONE OF THIS. Ichigo and Rukia's relationship has NONE OF THIS.

Oh well, I guess some people will argue apples and oranges until they bleed to death.
