bleachnessMore thingies for you all. First, Annie IMed me early this morning with scans of the new butler maid gum cards and said "don't ask me for HQs--I don't have them yet!" LOL. I was happy because we weren't expecting these to be released until the 30th. Just look at Ishida here pouring the tea like Sebastian! Renji is carrying a tray (are there seaweed ambassador cookies under the lid? Taiyaki?) and we have maid!Rukia at last.

pony_rocks posted links in the Ishida FC this morning to blogs from Ishida fans. She's a professional translator so I didn't think to bother her, but mezzo was kind enough to translate! Ishida gushing from blog under cut. Movie spoilers of course (but yeah movie spoilers are all over this community--I'm not really hiding them well).

Once the DVD comes out I think I will push the 'stop' button on this moment, without a doubt. I always go to watch the movies thinking 'If Uryuu is shown even just a little I won't have any complaints' - but this time it was like 'I'm satisfied even just with this', it was that wonderful.

その上、見せ場も多かった。雨竜の決め台詞も必殺技もおちゃめな味わいも全部ちゃんと盛り込まれていた。

But really, this time Uryuu was always on stage - from the beginning of the movie to the end. Moreover, it was in many locations. They really included everything - from Uryuu's words of decision, to his final killing move, to his playful flavour. It was a development that made a fan such as me - who always wonders for how long I will see Uryuu, and if he'll get any lines, with my heart all fluttering - very happy. Uryuu accompanies Ichigo, Rukia and Renji when they go to Hell. Together with the criminal (with a reason), Kokutou, they head towards the heart of Hell - where the enemy awaits them with the hostage.

それと、相手の攻撃を避けきれず雨竜が倒れてしまうシーン。
倒れている姿の美しさに 目が釘づけになる。

In my opinion, the best scene was the shot of Uryuu saying 'Hell... for Kurosaki, that's...'. Also, the scene where Uryuu falls down after failing to avoid a mutual attack. My eyes couldn't break away from the beauty of his falling figure. Like I thought... I love Uryuu's figure, his movements, his voice, his personality and his fighting style.

Uryuu kept poking Ichigo while he ran around swiftly, but eventually he ended up going along with his rash style. Then with his Quincy pride, he made use of the Quincy's tipically bright head - and crushed his opponent! O-of course his glasses weren't just shining all the time... he also kept pushing them up his nose, and they had their own sound effect that went 'Chaa'! That's evidence of the improved quality of the movie. They shone! They moved! They made sounds!

Nii-sama also had many lines concerning Rukia, it was very proper. (laugh)
LOL, Ishida, also Nii-sama. I swear, Nii-sama's scene with Ichigo may be one of the scenes I'm most looking forward to in the movie. Apparently many reviewers have said that it's powerful. There's a good summary in English at animesuki from Langus who went to see the movie HERE (I like that place, even though it often posts stuffs from here w/o credit to Mezz et al) and with all due respect to Langus, I don't think he got Bya's character right in that scene.
Byakuya wasn't being cold to his sister. Reportedly, Byakuya was trying to calm a guilty and freaked out Ichigo; Nii-sama was being the grown-up and saying Rukia was "a proud Shinigami" and had been prepared to die upon entering Hell, etc. He reportedly asked Ichigo to think about why it was that Rukia saved the older brother. It's at this point that Yuzu comes to life Orihime was trying to heal her? Not clear on this but Yuzu's hell chain disappears and Ichigo decides to rescue his friends with the hope that this will work for them too. They've all given their lives for him and become denizens of hell or something. Renji and Ishida are hanging rotting from a tree *sob* (reportedly--Neha and I were whining last night "SP--Don't rot the bishies!") and Rukia is then brought back to life and slapped around while Kokutou tries to get Ichigo to change into IchiThing. (That's the part Langus won't spoil you for XD) But Ichigo won't and while Rukia encourages him and Kokutou keeps hurting Rukia and making her bleed and going "feel the hate" (lol) Ichigo fights his dark side and instead turns into a glowing (lol more) Hell Knight form and of course saves the day. Renji and Ishida wake up somehow and freak out. Orihime catches people in her shield. Ichigo smiles at Orihime and Chad. Things get normal again in Kurosaki household. There is a lot of nakama AND ALMOST HARDLY ANY SHINIGAMI IN IT AT ALL.
OH WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SEPTEMBER FOR THE DVD.
I was telling someone that maybe because Bleach's actual 10th anniversary is in August, maybe the DVD will be out a little earlier for the sake of promotional somethings. I've never wanted to see a Bleach movie so bad.

Anyway, the hug was Orihime tugging on Ichigo and clinging to him and asking him to come back. By many reports it's a very touching scene. IchiOri shippers didn't even believe there was a hug at first when the first reviews were coming out--they were pretty skeptical that they were getting such goodies but they seem pretty happy about the scene now. They should be--it seems very sweet.

"The drawings when those two are in Ichigo's house... they were wonderful, weren't they? Ichigo was cool, and Orihime was cute. Though there were times when I thought that the line of Orihime's lips was a little thick.
Still... I think it was/would be good even without the hug. She talked with (Buu-san?) and seized the hem of her skirt/his cuff a little... but her hand was shaking. This kind of thing was very unlike Orihime, no? I feel like she wouldn't be so bold."

She kills her opponent earlier, she dies getting Ichigo and his sister out of Hell and here she's seen enduring all this to encourage Ichigo to his better self. She will NOT be the one to bring out the beast in him. It's powerful storytelling.

I look forward to seeing Orihime's cling/hug too -- I may not ship IchiHime, but I do like Orihime and I do like Ichigo. Orihime's thought processes interest me. Plus, the art sounds pretty great...

Date: 2010-12-07 04:14 am (UTC)I die with love every time I remember that he gave Rukia and RENJI coats for the desert sands of Hueco Mundo... I remember people speculating that the coats had secret weapons in them or something but nah they were just coats. LOL.
Rukia blushed with embarrassment recalling her brother's gesture of mother hennishness (and yeah people blush for reasons other than being in love--Yuzu, Ishida, these characters are shown blushing from embarrassment all the time--a friend was arguing to me the other day that Inoue wasn't blushing from love in Ichigo's room last chapter but I wasn't convinced).
Byakuya has such hidden warm feelings for his sister. It's even in the data book and written by Kubo himself that Nii-sama comes off as a cold guy but is "really a warm person."

...simply brilliant.
The final battle sounds so intense. I try to imagine how it will look like and I keep getting really scary images in my head about Rukia getting tortured (nudity, chain, stabbing, blood, tooth...) X_X Hopefully it's not as bad as I thought. My imagination tends to go overboard.
I can't wait for the DVD to be released! I wonder what kind of cards they will include in the limited edition of the DVD; I'm waiting especially for the 'riddle card' (if there's one) like the one we had in FtB's limited edition DVD...

Plus, it pleases my inner fangirl that Ishida gets so many cool action scenes and Orihime too!!! Then there's also Chad. I'm so loving this. I can't wait to watch it.

To deal with the spam and the one person who's been banned from various forums.
Not sure if Shuren are at odds or in kahoots--I think the former?
