New Bleach Manga Calendar is Out!

Go HERE and click on Ichigo to see the calendar ad. The New Year's Spread is featured but it edits out tiny Ishida and Chad the temple virgins (alas!). The calendar is also foldable so there's Ichigo, Rukia and Renji on one side and Orihime on the other.

I've liked the designs of the two previous calendars better--but at least we got a new cover. I know that Sensei is a very VERY busy man what with the movie, the spine pics and Bleach's 10th anniversary coming up. The calendar design looks pretty. I usually don't like re-doings of Sensei's stuff but the composition isn't bad.

ETA--Annie just told me that we WILL be getting a new cover for the calendar. Something to look forward to! Ten to one it's a nakama theme. I just hope Chad and Ishida are bigger this time. XD

Annie showed me the design and said she wasn't sure I'd like it~ Well, I love the picture used but the edits to it (i.e., the composition) drive me mad. I have to tilt my head to properly see it. >>;; That random white bar, too, is arrrgh. That said, I already pre-ordered it :3 Want new cover. XD Since those of us who are Ichigo/Rukia fans got spoiled with this year's beautiful and blatantly shippy calendar cover, I think it's a safe bet we'll go back to a nakama cover for 2011. *_*

While I do look forward to the calendar, I have to wonder if the ad designer was drunk or something. At first I thought Rukia was an iris blossom, angled almost upside down. And the placement of Renji... it's like he's either looking at Rukia's feet or up Ichigo's cloak. lol

Basically, 3 calendar sets get released each year (usually). One Bleach comic calendar (the one being discussed here in this post, which feature Kubo's spreads from the year), plus 2 other sets - Calendars A & B (the ones you linked to, which feature illustrations based on the current anime storyline).

I've never bought a Bleach calendar, and probably never will, but I'm happy to hear that Kubo will be doing some new art for it.
