My guess: artists need to eat and pay rent, so when Radical offered her work to do the covers, she figured it was honest work and therefore worth her time, she and gave it her usual high-quality output. She's shown no signs of being a fan of Bleach or Hellsing, so I can't blame her for not noticing the plagiarism.

P.S. That's not fan art she's posted...that's official cover art.

Yeah, that's one of the biggest parts of the tragedy.... she IS an honest artist. I loved her covers for Marvel's Runaways and the covers for the Buffy comics.

Like you said, the cover artists are contacted and told what to draw, they often have no idea of what's on the inside of the comic.
