Orihime Fangirls Ichigo (WSJ preview)

You have to love the WSJ pastiches.  There was one last year that had aliens attacking earth and Orihime wondering if they were friendly. There was one with Ichigo and Rukia a few weeks ago that nobody understood very well at all. This time the editors put together a really cute one. Each hero is there and there's a smaller character next to him ( a girl of course) and under each girl it says "fan representative." Ichigo's fangirl is Orihime and she's saying "Because Kurosaki-kun is strong and kind..." (translation thanks to sketchbaka )




 

The fact that these positive traits of Ichigo's are being recalled here just as he rushes forth to battle with all the ominous stuffs from recent chapters hanging on to him and trailing his half-naked body like ghostly ectoplasm as he shunpoes to Aizen .... *shiver* I feel so sorry for Ichigo. Do you think we'll see the strong and kind Ichigo any time soon in the manga? I'm a little heartened because Kubo gave us goofy!earnest!Ichigo for a couple chapters but I'm afraid we're heading right into Aizenpwnsyou!Ichigo and lots of fail!Ichigo again....


A deep deep heartfelt thank you to all of you who participated in the Ishida birthday bash yesterday and submitted entries or left gifts here on bleachness . I finished reading the stories last night and I think I've left comments on all the pictures and faved the ones on DA that were there--if I missed yours, please let me know! I'm going to go through them thoroughly again, though, when I make the voting poll. You have no idea how much I appreciated the community fun this year. <3

Well, they have to use heroic!Ichigo for Rukia given that's the ONLY time he looks like a true hero throughout this arc :lmao

NO! lol Rukia would be saying "His eyes don't look like those of a victorious man..." instead ^_^. That is not "fangirling" at all, but it is the truth and the real connection and understanding, not some "cheerleader" girl saying "Oh you are so big and strong, go Ichi, GO...!" LMAO XDDD. It is funny to see how the Ichioris where so happy about that pic and I fail to see how is this good for their ship XD. More LOL at the "only heroic" pose he had in HM picture and was with Rukia hehe.

Aww..that's so cute despite me being an Ishihime supporter. Ishida's strong and kind, too(even though this came from a real life fan). lol

As far as the contest goes, I probably would've been drawing something to the effect of the criteria for entering anyway. Thanks so much for hosting it, though! <3 I just wish I could've done more. In due time I suppose.

Hahaha. Rukia wasn't used because she's not his "Fan". Orihime is, because they have NO RELATIONSHIP WHAT SO EVER. Every hero needs a "fan". Fans are special but they never get close to you--

I remember when Orikasa Fumiko was told to come up with some 'warm words' from Rukia about Ichigo... and Morita was like, "I don't remember any warm words!" XD XD XD They just do NOT do that, lol.

Why do you insist on the fail Ichigo argument and now you are reconstructing IchiRuki relationship because Inoue is on a thumbnail saying Ichigo is kind and strong...she is there as a "fan". It's about heroes....Rukia is his partner, confident, mentor, and friend. His most important person. She isn't a fan....


Oh god I might just have to put my DTB essay on hold just to show it's an easier way to kill a ship . Without assassinating Ichigo's character (I mean if he is that fail. You shouldn't want Rukia to have him either)--and denying that the two have warm words. I thought that is what made us all shippers. I guess it was just me then...

Pretty sure when people talk about warm words they mean it's OOC for Ichigo or Rukia to willingly complement the other to their face with no good reason. (Rukia's speech was to encourage an Emo!Ichigo and all the other complements they've given have been spoken to third parties, not the person themselves.)

Rukia would never approach Ichigo and congratulate him for being so kind and strong and he would never do the same to her. The doesn't suggest they don't THINK those things about the other person, they're just not the type of couple to verbally express it.

They simply don't HAVE to and the audience is still aware that the sentiments are there because that's the bond they have.

There is one ship I care and is not IchiRuki, but I'm worried for Ichigo and trying to understand why those long lived captains has sent this boy who has been bearing with a lot of shit to end a war when they as an adults have all the responsibility to deal with that.

Let aside the Orihime element. Ichigo stabbed a friend, kill for the first time in his life when he always spared his enemies because he keeps being a pure boy. The guy wasn't happy when he come back from that dome and Rukia tell us readers about it. And now he has been sending with such responsability to the war. Yeah Ichigo needs to move, needs to be in action to don't drown in despair. But Aizen is not a Kenpachi, he is an insanely smart, wicked and manipulative man, his shikai is not his only weapon.

What about create doubts inside Ichigo? what about him knowing about his hollow? What about doing mindfuckery on him?

I AM DEAD WORRIED

what? Who's arguing for anything? Ichigo has failed a lot recently in the manga. Didn't he just fail to summon his mask? Didn't he just fail to be the good guy in Ulquiorra battle? Didn't he fail to bring his friends out of HM as he promised he would?

Really missed Stupid-Face Ichigo, and it was great seeing him again, but the last chapter we saw Kid!Ichigo and it does have foreboding written all over it. Normally I like seeing Ichigo get beat up because 1.) He always bounces back, 2.) No human being could possibly bleed like a fire hydrant and still get back up and fight more, and 3.) It's usually funny (re: 2.). But having the captains shove him into this one... I don't like. :(

Ah, I never saw the scan but I heard that people were talking about it on 2ch--something with Rukia saying to Ichigo "now it's your turn" or something like that just before the manga came back to HM. If anyone has a scan, I'd like to see it because I didn't see it. All I remember is that no one understood what it was about, LOL.

This is what annoyed me. When there is IchiRuki preview we never got the scan.

I remember that one. It was Rukia saying 'isn't it your turn (to help)?' and Ichigo goes 'I don't want to (yet)'. We were still in FKK town (Starrk vs Shunsui) and I thought it was just a way to say 'you guys are still in FKK for a whiiiileeeeee because a hero doesn't feel like showing up yet lol'

I do think that HeroIchigo will defeat Aizen - eventually. That doesn't mean he won't come close to total pwnage by Aizen first, but that's Ichigo's MO anyway.

I'm struck by the fact that Unohana gave Ichigo his little "pep-talk", as I don't think she's the kind of person who would use hyperbole for effect or the kind who would lay that kind of responsibility on Ichigo's shoulders if she didn't believe him capable (and I would bet that she intends to do what she can to ensure that Ichigo is in the position to do what he must).

Also, the fact that the Captains in Hueco Mundo are basically admitting that they think Ichigo is able to do it, even if they'd never admit that to Ichigo's face, makes me believe that Ichigo has not only the power, but the will to do it.

What Ichigo needs it to overcome his self-doubts after the disastrous "victory" in the dome that left him emotionally battered. He needs to believe in himself again and I think Unohana's stark but encouraging words are just what the doctor ordered. /rose-colored glasses

...you know. If they put Rukia there is wouldn't make any sense. I don't get why certain people are gloating about this. A fan doesn't tell the Truth, because they simply don't know the truth. If Rukia was here it wouldn't be fannish because she would be telling the truth about Ichigo and not all of that's very nice. Orihime always has nice things to say about Ichigo. Since all she want's to view are the nice things.

That said, why the hell are they making such a big deal about one little outside source using the two characters in their ship? It proves nothing about said ship.

See, I get the fun part. It's really cute when your ship of choice gets a little shine on it. But it's exactly like you said, there's no point in building a ship's eligibility for canon on these things...or on interviews, oh man how I hate it when people only use interviews to support their ships.
