Ishida and Ichigo look great, except for one thing: WRY is Ichigo the only one half-nekky??? Darn you, KT, make Uryuu take some of his clothes off for once!

Oh hey thanks Neha for keeping up with bleachness while I'm still on a migraine day (yeah, STILL--the meds aren't helping). I checked in with Annie this morning and saw the spread and left a rambly review at BA. Scan will be up soon so the discussion may as well start there.

Ichigo makes one hot Frankenstein's monster, and Rukia is RIDING THAT TRIDENT. Woo baby.

I think Orihime is supposed to be dressed as a pumpkin, not a ghost, but it sure is cute. I like Ishida's slicked back hair.

HAHAHAHA, chapter was good, but WTH is up with Hitsu's costume? Everyone looks so good, while he just kills it. He just looks ridiculous, haha. But Rukia, Ichigo, and Ishida make up for that. I love how the fanboys at the chapter thread are drooling over Rukia. She can't do sexy eh? Kubo seems to be proving that wrong, :p

Ichigo's expressions in this chapter broke my heart. You couldn't see his face half the time, but it still hit me. The occurrences atop the dome really haunted him. Ichigo rescue arc is a comin' The nakama will help him get through this, I hope.

Basic reactions:

-Rukia HAS had descriptions of the mask. I DECLARE BYAKUYA'S DRAWING OF THE MASK TO BE CANON! XD
-I do like that she's not freaking out about the MASK, just that it's changing. She's kind of "w/e" to the mask itself.
-WHY INDEED is Orihime sadder than Yammy? Yeesh, Ichigo. Nice of him to finally notice the nuances of her mood, though.
-LOL @ trying to eat Ichigo. I was JUST thinking he was big enough to chew on people, too.

I'm loving the color spread, but not nearly as much as I'm loving this chapter. I'm a bit of a sucker for seeing the hero become the damsel, maybe I"m just mean to my favs. But when I first started reading Bleach I didn't bond with any of the characters or find them attractive. I mean, Rukia was cool and whatnot, but the story was mildly entertaining even if I didn't bond with any one.

That all began to change with the Pendulum arc, where I really fell in love with a group of characters, especially Shinji and Hiyori.

And now it feels like the floodgate has opened with the most recent chapters. I really felt for Ichigo in this chapter, he's really out of whack and he's not the excitable shounen hero anymore. I want him to get better but I'm going to love the conflicted stage he's in while it lasts.

And is it me or are all the Bleach characters becoming more "eye-candy" as the manga progresses? Ichigo has gotten HOT!

I love the color spread. I like the Yammy color page too but Ichigo as Frankenstein is perfect for him. Little Rukia is TOO sexy there, riding her trident! *ahem* Renji is edible as usual and Ishida makes a perfect count, though I did think he was Aizen there for a sec. Orihime is adorable and Mats is always hpt stuff. Teh pread is a win!

The chapter is beautiful art wise but it's so full of innuendo that it's a bit confusing. When I read the script I was like, "How the hell did Rukia know about the mask and what on earth is Ichigo talking about with Inoue?" Seeing the pics gives me hope that it's all about reflection... Rukia reflecting on the strange change in Ichi (what's a matter Ichi? you killed your bad guy. Aren't you happy about it?[my thoughts, not Rukia's]). Ichigo giving some credit to what went down and zomg what? Ichi noticed that Inoue was having a feeling? lol

But yeah, seems Hime WAS feeling something. Something that looked to Ichi like sadness at the demise of the enemy? Enough so that he compared to Yammy who doesn't seem to give a shit? Is that what this chapter is trying to say? It kinda seems like it but I'm not sure I dare hope.

Kenpatchi and Bya at the end is fabulous.

Yes, I was stunned that Ichigo 1) noticed Orihime's feelings (although anyone blinder than Tousen wouldn't've missed the ANGST OF THAT LAST ULQUIHIME SCENE XD) and 2) he seemed to think that Yammy should feel more for his comrade than Orihime... LOL, the YammyUlqui ship dies here.

Ichigo starting to reflect is awesome. How long have we been crying for internal monologue! We get it now, only as the poor boy starts cracking...
