An ULquiHime one-shot, the angst and eyeshmex included.

This is the way the "hearts" conversation should've ended.

"I asked you if you were scared."

Orihime drew a shaky sigh.

"I am not scared. Everyone came to save me. My heart is with them."

Ulquiorra looked at her for a moment, hiding his surprise.

"Nonsense." His voice rang through the tower, "You are unafraid because your friends came to save you? Are you serious?"

Orihime smiled faintly, "If one of them disappeared the way I did, I know I will do the same. We treasure our friends and keep each other close to our hearts. That's what it means to have our hearts beat as one."

"Hearts? You humans always talk about hearts. My eye sees everything. What it doesn't see doesn't exist. What is a heart? Will I see it if I rip your chest or crack your skull?" He touched his hand to her chest.

He saw her eyes widen. There was a flicker of surprise there. She looked at him for a moment before speaking again.

"Are you afraid?" she asked, "of not knowing?"

Ulquiorra stared at her in puzzled bewilderment.

She took a step closer, now standing very close to him. “Do you want to find out?”

He did not answer. Her words both surprised and fascinated him. Such bravery was not anything he’s ever seen.

She put her arms around his neck pressing herself against him, something that he absolutely did not anticipate.

“We might be weaker than you, but we are not weak, and we are not trash.” she whispered in his ear. “We care about each other and sacrifice our freedoms and well beings in order to save the ones that we love. That is our strength and that is our heart.”

Ulquiorra remained motionless, not realizing that he was holding his breath.

“Can you feel it?” she whispered.

He felt the warmth of her body entering his own. For the first time in his life he was scared. He felt a wave of something strange, that he has never felt before, invade his very being. He did not know what to make of it, but the one thing he was sure of, he did not want it to end.

“Put your arms around me.” he heard her say. He mechanically took his hands out of his pockets and encircled her waist, drawing her close. Her small frame fit against his body perfectly. It's like she was made specifically for him. Then he felt something strange rise in the pit of his stomach.

Orihime drew her head back, studying him closely.

“Do you understand now?” she asked softly.

He stared back at her, not knowing what to say. He was under a spell, completely at her mercy.

Then, his thoughts were broken by a wave of a powerful riatsu. Kurosaki Ichigo. Ulquiorra was about to turn his head into its direction, but she touched his cheek drawing his attention back to her. He felt her soft breath on his lips, and the remains of his self control shattered. Ulquiorra grabbed the back of her head, hungrily putting his mouth on hers. He needed her, he wanted her, he had to have her.

Ichigo finally broke through the floor with a bang. Ulquiorra heard everything, but he did not care. He did not care that Ichigo was suddenly in front of them, yelling something inaudible. He did not care that he drew his sword and was ready to attack. All he saw was the strange creature in his arms, who made him….feel.

Reluctantly, Ulquiorra pulled his hand away from Orihime's waist, his mouth never leaving hers, and put it in front of Ichigo’s face.

Talk to the hand.

Ichigo's mouth fell open. But before he could respond, he saw a flash of green.

I don't necessarily "wish" for Bleachigo to be ceroed in the face. But I do want Ulquiorra and Orihime to finally go beyond the eyeshmexing and take their relationship to the next stage. She gave him a heart FFS. They radiate so much sexual tensions, it's like you're watching shoujo (if you take away the chat bubbles). Get a freaken room already!

Well, I wasn't exactly thinking that the Cero-in-your-Face might be foreshadowing for what will happen later on like, rather, a certain reunion that might end up in a crushing kiss... *le sigh* I'm such a hopeless romantic.

I like Strawberry, especially in the beginning, although sometimes, JUST sometimes, he does seem to need a Cero in his face, even a very little one. This guy makes Heihachi Mishima look like Team Rocket. He's too indestructible. He came back from the dead like it was something temporally! At the cost of his hair! Does he have Pacman lives? 247 in all? Arrgh.

Well, as for the CeroFace, there's always Nel that could eat any surprise Ceros, no? OH NOM NOM

Oh, Strawberry-kun was awesome at the beginning! Especially the high school scenes. Sometimes I miss the comedy, but at the same time, the dark plot twist kind of makes sense after everything that has happened.

Ichigo is too naive to think that he is the only one who can save everyone. He needs someone to break him out of the fantasy. And, like you said, a cero in the face might just do the job.

And yes, I do want a reunion, I would even be happy with the eyeshmexing, as long as there is a reunion. And I am curious to see the reaction of everyone.

Oh, I'm ecstatic that Orihime was "pained" and not Yammy. It means that Yammy did not give a damn. That means there most likely won't be a flashback of Ulquiorra. Which is good news! Because flashback means a certain closure. And we don't want closure!! I am fangurling like crazy now. *pant pant pant*

Isn't it ironic that ICHIGO of all people notices Inoue's distress? Didn't he just give up his humanity out of TRU WUB for her barley a few hours/half an hour ago? Shouldn't he be jealous or something? He did hand out his humanitiy on a silver plate for her stake after allllll. Maybe he's being OOC?

And since when he can see what's going on with her? Is her attachment to Ulquiorra THAT obvious? Enough that Strawberry's dull people senses can actually see it? Shishou are you trying to tell us something? :DDDD

I don't think Ichigo should be jealous because him and Orihime were never really close. He should be more confused than jealous, and that's how it is. Maybe it's the UlquiHime fangirl in me talking, maybe not, but I don't think he ever gave his humanity for her specifically. He wasn't even aware of what he was doing. She just triggered something in him, which made the beast come out.

Who/what is Shishou btw?

Hahahaa, I was being sarcastic when I was saying that the Ichigo-losing his-humanity-out-of-lub biz is tru biz. Guess the tone wasn't that obvious. Damn the interent. Curse you World Wide Web! *makes funny angry faces*

Oh, ShiShou is one of Kubo's nicknames isn't it? Shou stands for Shoujo. I forgot what the Shi stands for. *makes Dori impression*

Another Kubo nickname is Titty Kubo. Bwhahahahaaa!

I always thought that something bad was going to happen with Ichigo's hollow. He used it one too many times, and Hichigo said that if he made one false step he'd take over. So IchiThing wasn't a big surprise for me as for many others.

I still want to know what the Qunicy Champ would regret up in the dome. Dammit Kubo.

(Oh and I for one like using nicknames. I like calling Isida as -DA MAN- and Qunicy Champ. I like to call Orihime Pumpkin, although I don't think many would get why I call her that. :P)

Yeah, Ichigo was due for a breakdown. And interestingly enough, even though Shirosaki told him that he will take over as soon as he saw an opening, it wasn't Shirosaki at all. It was something completely different, a lot more frightening and destructive. Shirosaki has intelligence to some extent and a level of understanding, Hichigo was just an out of control pure destructive force, sort of like Allon. It was so exciting watching him stabbing Ishida and having Orihime flying on her face. IchiHime-ness died right there. Pure bliss.

The stabbing Quincy Champ bit was unnerving to be honest, because not only it confirmed even the most blind that Ichigo wasn't in control, it also confirmed that he couldn't distinguish between friend and foe. Even though Strawberry went back to normal through hax, had I was not unfortunate to have seen the final act first, I would have honestly though that he died and became a Hollow. Perhaps Kubo thought that that would have been too dark and seinin for this series, so he took a sneaky step back. Although I'm glad that Ulqui's death still had an impact on Strawberry and co. I am honestly FED UP of the unwritten law Shounen Law has that's called 'No Consequences'. It's stupid, makes everything pointless, and TOO CONVENIENT. I'm glad that Ulqui's journey to the Farplane has consequences. If he really is permanently dead, at least his part in the story was there for something. I'm really loving Kubo right now just for that.

Although a certain Batspada coming to the rescue was as delicious and surprising as well. Batspada's death was, ironically, my very first Bleach chapter. (I know, WTF??) So I had no idea of the whole 'he's the big bad, hero's gonna save the DiD, meanwhile cool dude eats popcorn' bit. I was honestly confused when I first read it, by only knowing that Ichigo was the hero who was on a rescue mission and he had almost lost his humanity on unfortunate circumstances through spoilers.

I was like this:

"Wait, isn't this guy the bad guy? Why is that girl looking at him like he's her lover who's about to die? Was there something between them? Why did the guy with specs just stand there to watch? Why does everyone look so sad and regretful? And why is the big bad so goddamned sexy? Hello? Explanation?"

Then I read the manga in one gulp before entering the fandom. Even though I'm going ninja, I'm quite the lurker around BA. I'm thinking of joining BA just to enter the UlquiHime fanclub. It's just too awesome not to. :D

Gonna have to go now, need to finish some assignments. It was nice talking to you madam. See you around! *ninjas away*

The funniest part that despite of everything Hichigo did, the IchiHime fans still insist that he was "protecting" Orihime. Talk about absolute and total denial...

You should definitely join the UlquiHime FC on BA. I'm already there! And we are going crazy atm because of the last chapter. Freak out Thursday!
