ED/WIN always got on my nerves. For some reason I can't stand when there's a sibling like love/hate "insert comical violence towards each other here" relationship between couples like them. At least with Ori/Ulqui there's a ying and yang effect...and this gif kinda sold me on it.

Argh, again with the infuriating match-ups?! L/Light versus the Fruba trio? Gundam Wing versus Trigun? Soi Fong/Yorichi versus Naruto/Sasuke? Okay, that last one was kind of an easy decision, but I still feel bad that these match-ups are letting several lesser pairing move forward.

oHHHH that one was hard for me. I voted for SoiYoru because of my Bleach allegiances and some old GLBT rights activist calling out in my heart but NaruSasu is canon love imv, LOL.

The one that hurt was Bulma/Vegeta vs Mugen/Jin. I went BV because it was my first manga anime ship--loyalty you know.

Talking to GreenBlack at one a.m.--she said America/England was only the 2nd biggest ship in Hetalia but yes it's haaaaaaaawt atm.

I think IchiRuki can still catch up--there are tons of people on the LJ comms. Just need to get the word out!

'Canonly' speaking, it's only got lots of hints in the comic - as opposed to, say, Germany/Italy which is super-canon and all of that. XD

But yeah, it is at the top as far as fandom is concerned. ♥ Just look at how many people mentioned it in their top ten at the beginning of the tournament!

We were really unlucky with this match-up, actually, because Hetalia is currently at the very peak of its 'fame', while Bleach's popularity was at its peak during the SS arc. So there are a lot more rabid fans doing their best to make it win than there are for IchiRuki. Plus, it's yaoi. Which I've found is always an advantage, for some reason. :P

NnoiNell and UlquiHime were more fortunate, at least.

I don't think so... I only saw America/England and Hungary/Prussia for Hetalia.

They only put up the couples listed by fans at the beginning, and since we were limited to ten in the end many couples were forgotten. ;_;

I know I forgot to list Yuuri/Wolfram. *bonks head* While I listed some couples that probably no one but me has ever heard about, but - but! I just couldn't help it, it would have been a betrayal in my mind if I hadn't listed them! ♥ Ash/Eiji, aaaah... ♥♥♥

...well, 'brutal' in a relative sense, really. If there's one thing I loved about the America/England vs IchiRuki match-up, it's that the fans of both couples started enourmous and beautiful pic spams and tried to win people over with the merits of their own ship, without ever putting down the other pairing! :D Everyone seems to be having so much fun, it is a joy to watch. If only it were always like this in fandom. XD
