I like a lot about this chapter but let's just say the color page gave me the most squee because even if Renji looks RIDICULOUS here he looks like Renji, the art is beautiful (is that a crocodile couch?), his shades are PURPLE (sheeeet!) and that cushion is PIMPIN. I mean, that cushion says MAMA PLANT YO ASS HERE NEXT TO MINE! Let's all take Renji's words to heart and relax ourselves.

I want this Renji da Pimp on my wall.




The 10 Espada Designations depress me for some reason. War and Famine and Disease aren't listed (or are they being saved for Gin, Tousen and Aizen?) and what about the switcheroos in the rankings--what did Neliel rule over when she was an Espada? Luppi? Are the designations static or dependent of the particular Arrancar who holds the position?

Questions that must be answered by fanfic!

I'm impatient for Soi Fong ban kai and utterly bored with  Hitsugaya and  finding out about his petals or whatever. His illusion trick is kinda  nifty in the sense as some have noted, it may be a way for boy genius to combat Aizen. STARK, where are you and your manly opponent?

Kubo-sensei, next color spread--boys in underwear? Please?

(seaweed is high in the same vitamins you get from lemons and oranges, that's why the Seaweed Ambassador is throwing them at the enemy, which I can only assume is some kind of illness? Not sure. Gotta look it up)
"WAKAME TAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISHI"

The old guy runs a food shop that sells wakame soup
But all his wakame got stolen so he can't make soup
(the enemy stole it, I guess, since he's lurking outside the house)
And without the wakame in their diets, the people will get scurvy and get sick, and hungry.

That happens in Bleach. But Kubo seems to pick up the little trains--he never does lose track of his toys. He has a special box for all of them. It's just that the Bleach choo choo goes one inch every year....

I find that the way he saved Shiro-chan was kind of desperate... I mean, he could have just focused on an other battle for a while and then thow in Hacci. I mean, we all know that the Vizards will come to save the day in the end anyway U_U

and then, considering that this was the first time the subject about the ten deaths came up I don't think we've gotten to little information. Hell, it passed almost 8 years(!) before we found out why Ichi have such huge "spirit"

Hollybell seems to think that the Amazons are dead - but Yama-jii specifically said he avoided fatal amounts of damage as a reward for their courage. She must not have noticed...I wonder how she'll react when she finds out?

The connection between Baragon's theme (old age) and his powers (manipulating time, anyway, causing decay makes more sense) is a bit tenuous. I expect those sorts of logical leaps more from Devil Fruit users.

What do you mean, "finding out" about Hitsugaya's petals? They break over time as a countdown to when his bankai stops working. You think there might be more to them than that?

Hitsugaya and Halibel: I suspected that Shiro-chan would get pulled through in some way. Yawn. On the other hand, interesting to see that Halibel apparently cared for her fraccion quite a bit. And does she look hot? Yes or yes?

Soifon and Barragan: That's one scary power the grizzly grampa has. I'm curious to see how Soifon can overcome that. If she can... Please, Kubo, make her be able to - I don't want to see the only female captain that's currently in battle get her ass handed to her. I really want to see Soifon break out her bankai.

As for that Renji page - of course he looks ridiculously pimpin. As he should, lol. When has Abarai ever been the paragon of restrained elegance and good taste? Next I want a colour spread with plently of Bleach male presence in it - doesn't matter to me how dressed or undressed they are, bring on the boys! XD

I wonder if Halibel's fraccion really aren't dead. Perhaps this is where her sacrific comes to play. Stark's lonliness will probably be the death of Lil, Barragan...tough one with him. It'd be nice if Omaeda dies but unfortunately I can't see any shinigami dying now. :(

my two favorite things about this chapter - the slow motion of soifon's dainty foot. I think she was beautiful in this chap. And yes, bankai now plz, before she must be rescued by a Vizard?

I don't know the original Japanese word, so I am utterly 100% incapable of saying whether or not "Nihilism" is accurate. On the face of it, I'm not sure it contradicts with anything about Ulquiorra, but for me, that's a word with such heavy connotations that I'm very hesitant to say, call Ulqui a nihilist.

Also, it makes me want to throw Crime & Punishment at Ulquiorra's head like a BRICK.

I like Barragan's release. I was so utterly bored by him all the way up until this chapter. And like Annie said, wow, stuff actually happened. This is madness. Well, "happened" being fighting, but I see actual progression.

The one that I felt really didn't fit the designations was actually "old age". I felt like everything else - famine, war, illness - could have fit underneath the other very generic nine categories. I mean, "suicide" could go under "despair" or "loneliness"; famines are typically situations of unequal distribution, not a true lack of food, so I'd put that under "greed"; war could go... well, anywhere, honestly. It's old age that's really putting a "cause of death" on this, but I think it gets away with with because it is the end-all to end-all.

It's funny, though, it's not like the Gotei embody anything about life. The true opposite of Hollows isn't Shinigami, at least not in this case.

And who's the Mama sitting next to Renji? Can you imagine Byakuya planting his butt on that couch? And did Oomaeda get Renji his jewelery?

Renji doesn't look bad at all in the HQ pick. I don't like the purple shades or the braid hair, but that is just me. Over-all he looks nice and sexy. I do want more of the rest of the guys *joins the plead to Kubo to make a boy spread in very little clothes XD*. I am really intrigued by the belt buckle writing, but it is probably not important :P. Is the couch pattern drawn or is an image. It looks really great.

I liked the chapter, but I can't stand Hitsugaya. I always thought of him as a very interesting character, but his zampaku-to abilities are definitely boring me to death too. I don't like his "petal" thingy is too Pikachu-like and childish to me, so blah!.
I am liking Barragan's abilities and release. Cool emblem in the front. It looks like an EYE. He just gave Soi Fon Osteoporosis or something XDDDD. Her arm broke like a neon light tube lol. It is all too SLOW. I guess we are going to be in the FKK forever!!. I hope he gives Omaeda tooth decay, so he can't eat so much, or perhaps heart disease. I want to see Ukitake and kyoraku more. Hopefully next chapter.
As far as the designations about "death" to all the Espadas I have to say that they seem to fit well for the most part and famine, disease, war... "4 horsemen of the apocalypse themes" might very well fall in the 3 top guys now like Debbie said. Tousen is supposed to be "the blind JUSTICE?" he is just missing the balance lol. I don't know...

If the designations stay the same regardless of the Espada holding that position, I can see how Nel is sacrifice. She seems to have a sacrificial nature and jumping into fights to protect people she cares about (Ichigo..when Nnoitra pwned her fraccions..) But I still don't know if the designations are supposed to be a reflection of their personalities or/and their main attacks (I can't see Luppi being destruction) <.< Yes I'm confused, Kubo I'd appreciate some answers.

Well, Luppi's release command was "Strangle, Trepadora." And th released powers were very well suited for that command. His power seemed like some sort of boa constricter that envelops and crushes its prey as cruelly as possible. So if you think of "Strangling, Choking, impaling, Crushing" as a form of "destruction", then it all makes sense.

Darn, for a minute there I thought Hitsugaya was going to join the armless club. I figured he wouldn't die since ticking off rabid fangirls (and who has fan girls more rabid than Hitsugaya?) would be a BAD idea, but I hoped he would at least get knocked out of the fight.

Also, considering the past trends of battles in Bleach, unless Soi Fong does end up being saved/owned (which I really hope doesn't happen) she'll whip out her Bankai and it will just so happen to have some attribute that will allow her to counter Barragan's ability.

One other thing I've been pondering is who's side the Vaizard are really going to be on. When they were leaving for the fight, they weren't clear on who their allegiances would lie with: Either Aizen, who gave them power but also ruined their lives or Soul Society, who were their friends but also abandoned them when they underwent hollowfication. I'd actually really like to see the Vaizard divided on the issue - some of them joining Aizen's side and some joining the Shinigami.

You know come to think of it, that couch does look like a photograph. :( The cushion that Renji is leaning on doesn't match with the background. Nor does the light source of the couch match up with where Renji is sitting. There should be a shadow underneath the cushion but there's light coming from underneath it.
