It's midnight as I type and we've got an IchiRuki reunion and a chapter title "Six Hearts Will Beat as One." (Nakama arc? Check!) Also an outrageous plot device wherein Exequias interrupt Ichigo en route to Tower Five, LOL, but I can't wait for this chapter.

And apparently another main cast color spread--and it's BEAUTIFUL!

I WUZ WRONG! Not a fighting spread. A lovely summer spread! I can't see Ishida T__T He's so tiny and I think he's wearing a towel?

OMG I love that chapter title!!! It almost made me tear up a bit. I am a total sucker for friendship themes like this one. There's something about a group of people -- especially weirdos and outcasts -- forging bonds and triumphing over adversity that really speaks to me. This group's bond and how each member has always interpreted it for him/herself -- from Ichigo's "I must protect" to Orihime's "I must get stronger" to Ishida's "I must prove myself" -- has always been more important to me than any of the possible romantic relationships. I know lots of people are waiting anxiously for IchiRuki or IchiOri reunions, but me, I just want to see all 6 of them reunite. With a big group hug -- even if Ishida has to be dragged into it against his will. (It's what he really wants anyway, he just won't admit it.)

In fact, to hell with the ship wars. I think they should all just move in together and form a communal marriage. :-D

Oh gosh yes, the whole "Don't die alone" and "you carry my heart" speeches give me good shivers. I think I was so caught up in the action and the OMG-what-are-they-doing-to-Renji&Ishida! that I missed how many humongous clues Kubo was dropping on our heads.

Man, there are so many ways to read the things Kubo puts out there, it's hard to know what to pay attention to and what's a red herring (intentional or otherwise.) I mean, what with Hime's declaration to Asleep!Ichigo, there's definitely a romantic thread/focus, but to me, that doesn't quite jibe with the whole nakama thing. *pulls at hair*

Hmm, so I just went over to BA and read a few pages of spoilers. The thing that made my mental ears prick up was that Orihime tells Ulq there is "one person in my heart..." Must assume she means Ichigo there, but to me, her mention of "one person in my heart" HAS to relate to the title "Six Hearts Beat As One". It's got to mean something, but I'm not sure what.

Also, I'm betting that the IchiOri shippers will interpret Rukia telling Ichigo to go on and rescue Orihime as her figuratively giving up Ichigo and directing him to the person who really loves him. (God forbid anyone take into account what Ichigo might want. Not that he even knows...)

LOL, the IchiOri shippers has already started! XD ...I heard some saying that Rukia is a matchmaker for their pairing, and this chapter just proves it. I'm sorry to burst their bubble, but that's a load of crap! Since when did Kubo ever painted Rukia in the manga as a matchmaker to IchiOri? I haven't seen any clues to suggest such a retarded thing.

LOL, yes, I'm hearing the "Rukia the matchmaker" spin already. Nevermind the fact that we've had an actual ICHIRUKI reunion to put a damper on any IchiOri reunion that may be forthcoming but it's way to early to call--there could be pages of lingering look btwn Ichigo and Rukia, there could be "heya, long time no see." There could be Ichigo wanting to stay and fight and Rukia (again) having to goad him to his duty. It seems to me that an IchiRuki reunion was thrown in the mix just to remind the audience who the main characters were, if not the main "pairing." The chapter cover, all that--it's IchiRuki all the way baby.

That translation of that spoiler was done by a very unreliable person.It's not on the first post. ^_^ It doesn't seem to match the chapter title. So I'm assuming it's wrong. We'll see. I can't see Hime going from thinking of all her nakama to thinking of only Ichigo again but...
