Does anyone know if there is already an equivalent to naruto_choice for the Bleach fandom on LJ?  Because if there isn't, I think it would be fun to set one up.  And, everyone likes nominating and being nominated, right?

I'm fairly certain that there's nothing for the Bleach fandom like that, but I went to naruto_choice and couldn't really make heads or tails out of it, even after reading the FAQ. This may be because I've been on the computer too long today or because I am genetically predisposed against artistic competitions or I'm one of those annoying people that advocate Alfie Kohn principles about self-motivation being better than prizes and carrots... or ....

I dunno. Could be nice! There are always wonderful things being written on bleach_flashfic I'd like to see get some attention. Sounds like the idea is for encouraging new fic and not archiving old faves?

I'd get dizzy trying to make recs on such a comm but if someone started something up, I might MIGHT try to nominate. I'm happy as it is just reccing what I <3 here and telling my friends about fics I've read.

I only skimmed through all the info on naruto-choice (there was so freaking much for a girl short on time)...but it is basically a community that hosts several different contests. Right now, they are hosting a "reader's choice" contest, in which people can nominate fanfics for the different categories that they have. Then, people get to vote for their favorites within each category...

With the mods just organizing and over-seeing everything and making sure that one or two authors don't monopolize all the wins. And I have no clue what incentives or prizes they are offering.

Contests can be lame (inbred, even), but I actually hope that this way, people might get exposed to authors/stories they have never even heard of, or might not come across other-wise.

Hmmmm, that sounds good. If you start one up, I can't help mod but I'll be curious enough to poke around a bit and participate! Maybe you can do a poll to see if there would be interest.
