What we have here are a whole gang of characters that have powers that everyone assumed to exceed those of shinigami... showing up and being pretty much meatshields. Their only real achievement so far was killing off Barragan- all the others were handled solely by the shinigami. For the longest time, I thought the Vizards were supposed to be the deciding factor in this war, but... what have they really done in this arc that the other shinigami couldn't have done? Did Kubo really just create them in order to throw a few more bodies into the arc?
Me, I'm thinking there's something strange about this. I'm thinking that none of them have even unleashed their bankais yet, and THAT strikes me as hella strange. I hope that they still have some kind of ace up their sleeve: it would be too lame to have them just be glorified extras.
