Sorry those of you who saw this before the spoiler cut. D=
Some rather incoherent thoughts:
So, wow. We actually get to see something interesting this time, even if it's just Aizen doing his usual I-like-to-gloat-good-thing-I'm-usually-right-and-oh-look-it-pisses-people-off-how-amusing-you-little-ants routine. Now, while I'm pretty sick of Aizen's smug arrogance and wish that he would just get on with the show and pwn everyone already or just do us all a favor and die a horrible death (joke, really). His dark-Obama speech-making is actually pretty interesting in content. Especially, if he's not lying (I find it very difficult to take anything Aizen says at face value).
Basically, he's showing his true snake colors, especially if you're one of those people who doubted that he was as much of a snake as he is. But. To his credit, apparently what you buy is actually what he's selling. He just "understands" that the peons are too weak to simply rely on themselves, instead seeking out the stronger (read: what a condescending prick this guy is). Quite literally this is in direct contrast with, oh, everyone on the protagonist side, who have people they believe in and rely on and want to protect, as shown by Shinji verbally. Case in point is our dear Ichigo. I feel sorry for you, kid.
When you juxtapose Aizen's comments with Ichigo's actions (despite the fact that Ichigo, in playing hero alone, is sort of acting like Aizen right now), I get the feeling that we're seeing what separates the hero from the villain. And maybe, if my reading of this is correct, what ultimately will be Aizen's downfall in true Shounen style. That, to me, would be very interesting, especially since at this point it's almost looking like Ichigo will have to become god himself in order defeat him. Seriously will be unimpressed if Aizen's a hybrid; the man doesn't need it, he's formidable enough with his hax sword. We've all been waiting for the Six Hearts (currently acting as the Six Fools) to come together and become a formidable force. Or at least I am.
I've skimmed some comments vaguely and noted that a few people think that Aizen's interesting and mysterious, etc., etc. This may just be me, but he's never been either mysterious nor all that interesting. But then again, I also do not take Kubo's words about those things seriously since by saying those things I've noticed that Authors tend to undermine themselves by overselling the hype. I mean, sure, when he moves events, he moves them oh so well, but really, there's so far been nothing to him that excites mystery. He's just the standard I want to be dark overlord, and why yes, I am one evil mofo. The only difference is that he obviously must have read Peter's Rules on How to Be an Evil Overlord. Sure, there's the question of why he's doing this and what does he intend, but it's been pretty obvious from the start, he wants power. That leads to why does he want power, but honestly, at this point, it's just not mystery. Maybe all the mystery was killed. To me, the mystery surrounds those around him, not him personally. This may just be me.
As for the villains being Vizards or some variation of one. Half of me wants to laugh, but also I'm really curious as to what's the difference between the two. Are Aizen's version more powerful (this would annoy me since we really don't need the Villain Mary Sue to be any more perfect) or does temperament have to do with this. The latter would definitely be interesting, since if you're evil and you want power wouldn't you be able to work better with a hollow since you don't care about mass destruction? Ichigo and company quite clearly do no like to do evil things, if you don't have that moral ground, would that make the hybrid different? Also, I hope we get to know when Tousen's power up happened. That would definitely be interesting.
Also, love how Tousen praises his new power, whatever it is as "magnificent" or "splendid", the evil part of me wishes that it would backfire in his face, like everyone else. I doubt it would happen, but still...a girl can wish. To me, a gift from Aizen is like accepting a gift from Coyote. You just shouldn't trust it.
Aaand. If you read through all that, I, uh, hope I didn't bore or confuse you too much.
