Byakuya’s pen stopped and he looked around, noting the lack of color in the room. He had just finished the last of his work, and it was only three days into the week. He looked over to his fukutaicho’s table, with hope against hope that the man had simply learned to effectively hide his reiatsu and wasn’t doing the unthinkable and actually missing hours of work. Infallibly, Byakuya was not surprised to find the table vacant of its usual occupant, towers of paper decorating the top. Byakuya resisted the urge to assist the man, as he knew doing that would only encourage his subordinate into bad habits like Hitsugaya Taicho and Rangiku fukutaicho. Suppressing his growing annoyance so that it was not reflected on his face, Byakuya drew himself upright and with light step, exited the colorless room that served as the office.
