This was written in response to a challenge issued by adam_epp. Better read his story, too. It's funnier than mine. He better not get too lazy to post his own direct link because if he doesn't, the lovely people at bleach_news might not include it in their day's summary of events...

Incidentally, we also asked Debbie sweetie to join us but she declined, saying she had already traumatized too many people with her own fic, "Necrophilia." Of course we didn't listen to the subtle hint!

This is Chapter 1 of my story of Hisana and Byakuya, based on Pride and Prejudice...sort of.

Title: The Gentle Flower
Rating: PG? Nothing objectionable, I think
Summary: "“Miyako! Why are you here? What—” Hisana stared at her friend. The girl now wore black robes, the black robes of a shinigami."

This is a transitional chapter, with no pairing in it, but my story is about the two characters. I've discovered many people don't care for this pairing, because, let's face it, it's a pretty boring pairing...so flamers, please abstain from your hatred
