Hmmm, according the chart I was looking for and tht Grassy provided above (http://www.bleachexile.com/information/bleach-hierarchy/), there's no reason for Yama-ji to have authority over Tessai it seems, but maybe he's just got old man senior long mustache rights.
Man, no sight of the current Kenpachi or the new 10th, I know. Kubo could just be avoiding them because they're not important or because they're HUGE. I'm starting to think we won't see Isshin in this flashback, though. The untraceable gigai is what's going to keep the Visored all out of that Maggot's Nest once they can no longer serve as officers... but yeah, why do they still resent Urahara?
