I'm trying to be patient. I've figured out that while Kubo-sensei said that this arc would be over in June of this year, he couldn't possibly mean the ENTIRE Hueco Mundo arc but only the current goings-on in FKT . Sensei promised on Jump!Bang television that the bodies in Szayel's lab would play an important role in the plot, and I'm presuming Mayuri's loot wagon figures here, and we still have unresolved issues in HM--a battle between Yammy and the captains, Orihime's character crisis, etc. There's simply not enough time to tie up loose ends in a matter of a few weeks and enter into the inevitable training arc and/or long-awaited Isshin gaiden.



Keeping in mind that I won't be denied for long, that I'm just being teased by an evil evil mangaka with panels of Rangiku running, running to her reunion with Gin and keeping in mind that sometimes people actually savor the croutons in their salad without conjuring a single fantasy from the dessert menu, I reread last week's chapter. I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF, though--serial damn stories make me think ahead--what else are we supposed to do but predict what happens next? It's all part of the fucking FUUUUUUN. >.< (Last comment directed at people who keep telling me to stop predicting outcomes because oh dear, I'll embarrass myself when I'm wrong. Right back at you, kiddoes).

I figured there HAD to be a good reason for the three Amigos ganging up on Aizen yet again, only to fail to stop him as we all know they will.  I suppose one reason was that we were all supposed to take pleasure in the attack names as they were called out--"Shibari Benehime!" (so kinky, Kisuke!) and "Getsuga Tenshou!" (So familiar, Papa!)--but all I can see is a set up for cracking Aizen-sama out of his banana-peel/Gaga dancer/cocoon outfit, and the only thing sustaining me right now is the UraYoru.

They were so cute, weren't they?  But of course Aizen had to undercut their banter by suggesting that it was a distraction technique, a show meant to temporarily confuse the man in the banana peel. Is Aizen an anti-shipper? He also suggested that it was he and not Destiny that brought Ichigo and Rukia together. Whatever, Aizen-taichou. Ichi and Ruki could have been brought together by both you AND Destiny; Urahara and Yoruichi could have been sincerely bickering as well as trying to distract you! (btw, did everyone see Ju-Ni's scan of Deicide 6? I didn't post the translation bc I've been making too much out of translations lately but haha, Yoruichi wasn't referring to Isshin's nose as being painful--that was Urahara going "Ouch! My nose!" when Yoru, presumably, slapped Urahara with his own fan off-panel. *HAPPY SIGH* I love pairings that take time out to be violent to one another in the middle of a battle to save the universe! <3... I'm currently having the same log-on probs with Ju-Ni other people were having last week... grr).

Aizen double-speak is fun to decipher for about ... oh, a couple days after a chapter comes out. UraYoru cuteness lingers longer.



Although Yoruichi showed up in weird armor a while back, it wasn't until this chapter that it occurred to me to notice what Yoruichi was wearing instead of what she wasn't wearing, and I remembered how banged-up her arm got some couple hundred chapters ago against Yammy.









It's pretty cool when Sensei picks up a stitch from long ago like that. In this case, I wasn't anticipating any special power-ups or gadgets from Yoru so the armor was a nice surprise. It's a whole other story when you wait for years for Kubo to deliver. I'll never forget the moment Komamura squinted at the sky and said he would tear the blindness from Tousen's eyes. I waited and waited ... and waited. And just this year I got the whole package. Not just a wonderful reunion, but lots of irony cherries on my cake cooked with irony. Tousen got his sight back but as he was dying, he could not recognize the apparition of the woman for whom he started his quest for Justice. Not to mention that the villainous Ulquiorra who could regenerate his own eyeball and who had stated that he did not believe in what he could not see with his own eyes had preceded Tousen's death with the last words "I see" in the context of the human heart.

When Sensei promises a reunion, the resolution may take years but he'll come at you with a full plate. I mean you'll be trying to corral all the metaphors and wonderful meanings and if you're a Bleachtard like me the whole manga will be illuminated and maybe you'll cry a little and be unusually kind to strangers for a few days and perform more charitable deeds!

This GinRan reunion is currently taking my mind off the dome. I know that Kira looks too bad off to run at the moment but I figure Unohana will take her sweet time healing him and then at some moment when we least expect it Kira will show up to literally weigh down Gin's frivolity and wisecracks. The anime and the hilarious Dattebayo sub of Yammy swearing to get his revenge on Ishida, that "four-eyed TWINK" (where does Yammy learn these terms? The Hueco Mundo interstate ballrooms?) made me think that Orihime may launch Tsubaki against the guy who pulverized the little fairy (Tsubaki not Ishida) long ago and the justice of all that plus her defending Ishida would make such karmic good sense. And of course I still fret about Ulquiorra and his powers of regeneration ... argh, I called it in 2007 that the man would have a glorious redemption scene involving Orihime and I've been calling for his return for a year now and I'm wondering if the heart vibes he got from Orihime are enough for him to regenerate himself (I get Bleach stuff wrong sometimes but my Ulqui batting average is high--called his bat form and regeneration ability here May 08). A touch from Orihime's hand appeared to fix Ichigo's wound in chapter 238 so in another parallel, would Orihime giving Ulquiorra one of those organs he can't regenerate (a metaphorical heart in this case) allow Ulquiorra to regenerate himself as a new entity?

If Kubo doesn't pick up the stitches soon, speculation will eventually land right on the money, you know. That's what happened when a bunch of fanbois predicted the whole YAMMY IS THE ZERO ESPADA. <3

I've called the man Kubo "Never Drops a Stitch" Tite before, but even a mad Kubo fangirl should admit that certain Bleachverse elements seem to have been discarded for whatever reason. I'm cool with not a mention of spirit threads or Hell's Gates in the past few years, less so with the absence of Tatsuki because characters are never throw-aways in Bleach.

So, okay, I've run out of coffee. I'll get Neha to make a poll for later but in the meantime, what are your Bleach dreams, speculations and Tanabata wishes for this summer?

As for the end of the arc, I'm not sure. I'm not sure he won't deal with the HM-centric stuff off-screen and through flashbacks, because seriously, seriously... this is the and of the arc, and no one wants to go back there, the stuff happening right now in Karakura town - the fake one - is too much important and interesting for Bleach itself and the fans.

Uhm, actually, I'd jump for joy if we went back to HM. I am bored out of my skull by Aizen and even the Ura/Yoru/Isshin tag team and Gin/Ran/Kira possibilities aren't helping that much. Granted, the story may not go back to HM 'physically', as it were, but Kubo left way too much stuff hanging there to simply wave his hands like Obi Wan and go "there is no HM, there is no Dome, this is not the Yammy you are looking for". I don't know how it will happen -- maybe a huge Garganta will open up and everyone in HM will fall into FTK and Yammy will splat Aizen the same way he took out Rudobone -- but something has to happen.

Honestly, even though I really don't see it happening, it will always bug me if Ichigo doesn't go back to HM to at least get his nakama simply because they made the vow 'to come back to this place alive' and because Ichigo vowed to Grimmjow to take everyone back with him. (I guess that may end up being another example of Ichigo's failure as a shounen hero during this arc, tho.)

I know that everyone wants out of HM and to put the whole dreadful arc behind us but if Kubo just walks away from everything that happened there, I'm going to lose a huge amount of respect for him as a writer.

I guessed that was the purpose of Yoruichi's armor before it was confirmed. Goes to show that Kubo goes back to everything eventually. (By eventually, I mean "After everyone except nerds like me have forgotten about it.")

Ulquiorra's return is inevitable, but there are definitely many things Kubo's going to return to before it happens, even beyond the end of the current battle, which will have to include Ichigo controlling the Ichibeast form. There's Tatsuki, Keigo, and Mizuiro's new powers, Orihime fixing up the Desert Bros., the fallout from the other surviving Espada...Probably the introduction of a new villain. I expect him to dramatically appear in the middle-early part of the next arc to help out Orihime.

oooo Loved your post. I completley agree that Kubo always takes his time and in the end the real Bleachtards get rewarded generously with the best resolutions.
There are so many revelations I can't help but feel anticipation for.
1. It was implied (or atleast I think it was) that Gin and Rangiku found a child. It would be interesting to know who that was though I already have a guess.
2. Whats under Aizen's shell. Was it just me or did his eyes disappear a few panels befor Isshin GTed him. He probably was done his final transformation.
3. I want to know about HIyori and Hikifune.
4. Why Gin is doing what he does because everyone in Bleach has a motivation of some sort.
5. If Yoruichi has a zanpakutou, what it would be along with Isshin and his shikai/bankai.
6. How the heck Rukia got the hogyokou (I know I'm not alone in this regard).
7. What will happen to Orihime....will she finally get over Ichigo and allow her powers to fluorish for her own sake. I have a feeling that when she fights for herself, she will show everyone her strength and that it doesn't come from a man.
8. The return of Ulquiorra. OH PLZ COME BACK TO ME!!!

As for Volume 45...I love the cover and it's contents. I think that for the first time, while I read those chapters, I finally understood and liked Old Yama.

Will Aizen pull ten VLs out of his ass hat in future chapters? Will an established arrancar attain this holy grail of hollowhood? Some surprise twist? Nothing at all?

Oh we'll definitely hear about the VLs again. They obviously didn't want to join Aizen's battle and somewhere, somehow in a restructuring of Heaven and Earth there may be a place for them as the rulers or dominant figures of HM... right now they appear to be absent while the hungry mobs and chaotic run the show.

I don't think Aizen needs them to enter the Royal Realm.

But yeah, VASTROLORDES.... the silhoutte so much like Ulqui in regards to the time they're mentioned makes me think that Ulquiorra's return may be accompanied by more VL info....

Old man Yamma is looking good!

We have similar BleachDreams, I think . . . Orihime taking out Yammi with Tsubaki is my current number one and has been for quite a while. It just makes makes so much sense. Number two is Ulquiorra coming back of his own power as something other than a hollow.

Other Bleachtacies include: Yoruichi having played an instrumental role in Rukia getting the hogyoku and that Yoru's role is what resulted in Hisana coming into contact with Bayakuya; Isshin gaiden in which there is epic romance and tragedy; Ulquiorra-sensi helping Ichigo get a handle on his hollow form; and Chad meeting up with his abuelo (not sure where that came from, but I WANT it).

I also am starting to hope that Gin is some kind of double agent, possibly working for the Hell Realm. Yes, Gin very well may be the spawn of Satan (or this may be complete crack).

Well, I'm of the opinion that this arc should have been concluded by June of last year, not this year (which it probably won't be). If the fights weren't so unnecessarily drawn out (seriously, why can none of these Shinigami fight all-out from the beginning and end their fights quickly? It just makes them look moronic), or if chapters had more dialogue, or if Matsumoto's Gin reunion occurred this chapter instead of the next (or who knows however many later), and so on...yes, this arc could have been over by June of this year and before; I'm basically ran out of patience.

I seriously wonder sometimes what the Shounen Jump editors are doing. I know that they made a good call by influencing Kubo to start Bleach off in Karakura (instead of Soul Society like he originally wanted) but what are they doing now? As for my Tanabata wishes... Orihime, of course, comes first-place. Either her taking out Yammy or Aizen himself would make my not-so-inner fangirl squee with joy. The idea of Neliel or Hacchi (maybe both) training her has also been one floating around in my mind for a while now. Quincy Papa is another must, and bonus points if he and Lisa are even on the same page. A bazillion if my ridiculous crack theory is right and she's Uryuu's mom. 8D Needs moar Chad, of course, and I want an Orihime and Tatsuki reunion tying into what Orihime said at the very beginning about always coming back to Tatsuki, and Tatsuki's feelings about going where Orihime can't follow.

I'm so glad you made this post because I've been thinking about this last chapter, and re-reading parts of Bleach and re-watching parts of the anime and I can't help but think that at least some questions might be answered.

A brief thought on Gin, Rangiku, and Gin telling Ichigo to run: Is it possible that Gin senses Rangiku running toward him and simply wants Ichigo out of his hair so he can devote his full attention to Ran? Sort of a 'Get outta here, kid, I've got more important stuff to do right now. Here's a dollar, why don't you go buy yourself a candy bar?" :)

Going back to Aizen's "I Made Everything Happen" speech, I know some folks thought it was retconning, but looking back, there are bits here and there that suggest otherwise. I re-read and re-watched the Menos Grande fight and the start of the SS venture. I'd always thought Urahara brought the Menos in, but it's more believable that Aizen sent it. And at the gate, where Gin obviously knows who Ichigo is, previously I thought it was because of the Menos report, but now I think it heavily implies what Aizen was saying: that he's had his eye on Ichigo all along and that's how Gin knows about him.

Then there's the whole Quincy thing. I mentioned it before, but I'm really wondering if Ryuuken is going to show up in FTK because to me, at least, his non-appearance feels a bit like a missing tooth. We know he's associated with Isshin, and we know Urahara knows him. Now I don't for a second believe that Ryuuken would be working with this trio -- Isshin, maybe, but not this cohort of 3 Shinigami -- nor do I think they would depend on him or build Ryuuken into their plans, but it just seems *weird* that he's not there. Kubo has been pulling this Aizen fight out like cheap taffy, and I can't help but think he's about to surprise us with something.

I saw someone on BA recently snark that only idiots think the Quincy are still relevant to this story, but I just can't believe that. Not only do we have unanswered questions about Isshin's and Ryuuken's relationship, but who sent the Menos after Uryuu in Ch 184? He'd lost his powers, he had no detectable spiritual pressure, and yet it showed up right where Uryuu was and attacked him. The only options I can come up with are that Aizen sent it after Uryuu to either eliminate or test him, or that Ryuuken himself somehow summoned it and the whole rescue/insult/offer power-up thing was a set up. Of those choices, Aizen sending it after Uryuu seems the more realistic, and that indicates an interest. He either wanted Uryuu out of the way, or wanted him to get stronger, just like Ichigo.

So many unanswered questions. It would be nice if Kubo would give us a couple of answers before tangling things even further.

I'm so with you on the Quincy questions...you pretty much summed up my feelings perfectly. I know that I'm overly invested in the Quincy since I brim with Ishida love, but beyond my own fangirling, I am convinced the Quincy have a greater role to play yet, and I think Ryuuken will factor into that. Also your Aizen fight-taffy comparison is win.

It's funny, I hadn't considered the 'run' moment from this week in the way you interpreted it when I read the manga, but now that I've read your thoughts, I'm thinking that's exactly what Gin meant.

Re: Yoru's armor: YES. I'd just finished re-reading those older chapters and then there she is, with armor. OT, sort-of, but I also noticed after re-reading MitR, Grand Fisher was being bitched out by two now-familiar faces who hadn't been introduced yet: Iceringer and Di-Roy. So yeah, definitely Kubo doesn't drop a stitch.

1. TSUBAKI. I want him to be the catalyst that brings Yammi down, either alone, or with assistance from newly-healed Ishida and Chad. (Come on, 'Hime, you can do it girl! We know you want to, too.)
2. Some Espada turning out to be Not Dead, or resurrected somehow. If the latter, a noticeable absence of hollow hole and mask should accompany it, proving there is possible redemption even for high-level hollows.
3. A little comedy scene between Yachiru and wee!Nel, possibly at Hanatarou's expense. (Come on, they're ALL there in HM and we haven't seen them in years.)
4. Tatsuki, Keigo, and Mizuiro PLZ. I miss them so much it almost physically hurts.
5. An explanation on what Nanao, Sentarou, and Kiyone have been up to all this time.

I'll stop there, or I'll scroll this page out of existence. :x

Right now, I want:

1) GinRan reunion and GinKira reunion. This is my Koma/Tousen :3. I have been waiting for this since the end of SS. And Kubo has been such a tease with Gin being glad that Kira is okay and Kira freaking out when something just SAID Gin's name. He held off on GinRan, but I'm sure he's saving that for the upcoming chapters. I want some closure to GinRanKira's fucked up relationship. Kira has always always been one of my favorites. He is my favorite VC. His relationship with Gin fascinated me. It was based on loyalty. Kira blindly followed Gin because he was his captain. But now that Gin is a traitor, how will Kira act? And of course, there's Rangiku, who is even closer to Gin. They have history. Ever since that "Sorry," I have been wanting to see those two reunite. And now, we see Ran running to him holding her side! I see a lot of GinRan, at first, with Kira showing up later on. If Kubo-sensei does not have Kira join the reunion, I will be very upset, especially if Gin dies. D;I love my GinRan, but it wouldn't feel complete, for me, without Kira there to confront Gin as well. Now I'm just wondering if he'll be able to get there. Will he get help from Unohana? Or will he push through his pain. I kinda like the latter idea. Gin being confronted by an injured Ran and Kira is just delicious, mostly to see Gin's reaction to all that.

2) I do want to see what's going on with Orihime. I do think we'll see a broken Orihime, but I am really hoping that she is doing some thinking. Her character has been going downhill for a while. I'm still holding on to the Orihime from SS and am hoping to see a more mature version of that. I truly hope that the Lust chapters were her lowest point and that she will rise from this.

3) ISHIDA WITH A FREAKING HAND! It breaks my heart to know that an ARCHER and a man who SEWS is lacking a hand right now :'(

4) ICHIISHI confrontation. Oh, those two are SO not finished. Ichigo is looking so emotionallly exhausted right now, because he is running away from what happened on the dome. And that centers all around Ishida. The IchiIshi friendship is my favorite. I love all of them, but the IchiIshi snark wins me over, hehe. So I can't wait to see what happens between those two when they see each other again.

5) And last, but not least, Isshin backstory. Which will include Ryuuken, :3 There are so many questions I'd love to have answered. What was he in SS? How does he know Ryuuken? How does he know Urahara? And etc and etc.

In no particular order (or not) ~

I'm calling it: Redeemed Yammy. After two stall-outs on his battle in HM and the fact that both captains he's fighting already got a win this arc, that battle of his is pretty damn important. I want to see him alive and de-Hollowfied after this. <3

For pure not-random crack: chibi!Nel, Pesche, and Dondochakka "adopt" Grimmjow since he's alone in the world. He gets to learn the meaning of "nakama" whether he likes it or not. His new goal in life is to keep Nel from crying so her big brothers don't make his life miserable.

On the picking up loose threads front: What did Nnoitra figure out when Zaraki kendo'd him? I hope it's a loose thread from Zaraki's lesson waaay back in 113 and 114 about working with one's zanpakuto and fighting side by side with another. Now it's Nnoitra's turn to get the message and fight properly. Preferably with Tesla at his side.

Another loose thread: Why did Neliel chibify when Nnoitra hit her, and is this related to what Wonderweiss did to Ryuujin Jakka?

Szayel's promised research, 'nuff said! *flail* I hope it has to do with what happens to a Hollow who regains a heart.


Oh yeah, and while I'm wishing for pipe dreams, how about Orihime firing Tsubaki like she means it and some Renji and Byakuya interaction since they're practically next to each other at the moment anyway? (Bonus points if something like "you can't manage without me" is involved in their interaction.)

There really are a lot of loose threads, especially in HM, yes? I'd greatly love to see those threads caught up. And if the Grimmy end goes as you suggest, I sure won't complain. It would also be hilarious, too. XD

1. The most annoying thing for me in Bleach: the HOUGYOKU. Seriously, I want its history, how on earth Aizen found out abt it, why Urahara hid it in Rukia(where on earth did he find her??) There are so many threads associated with this one so yeah...Kubo, I want some answers...

I didn't post the translation bc I've been making too much out of translations lately but haha, Yoruichi wasn't referring to Isshin's nose as being painful--that was Urahara going "Ouch! My nose!" when Yoru, presumably, slapped Urahara with his own fan off-panel. *HAPPY SIGH* I love pairings that take time out to be violent to one another in the middle of a battle to save the universe! <3... I'm currently having the same log-on probs with Ju-Ni other people were having last week... grr"

To tell you the truth, I didn't notice in the English translation, but guffawed to myself when I read the raw and saw that. It was amusing.

Like I said to Syn, I'm fairly certain that anything about HM and the Dome is happening after the fires burn here. Because Aizen is going to have to go on to the next level to assure us of his status as Final Boss. As long as we're assuming he's going to be the final big boss. I doubt that Kubo will ignore what is going on in HM and with Orihime seeing as he's so good at tying up his loose ends, the only problem is that it may end up being a long time before we see the fruits. >_>

Everyone has took all the words from my mouth. But I wish...

* Quincy clan taking the spotlight finally. There is a whole lot of stuff about them that KT needs to put there. And Ishida's family and all the stuff revolving around them is quite the misterious element there: we know about his dad, where he works, about his grandpa but not about the mother, about the Ishida family/Quincy clan. There are more people? Or it's just Uryuu and Ryuuken the only members of a little, wealthy family?

* More Nakama bonding, PLEASE. I WANT AND I NEED more chapters dedicated to this amazing group of six friends (number that could grow soon) in the daily life, come ooooon Kuboooo! ;_;

* Hell gates, that's bugging me sensei.

* Moar IshiHime developtment *_*

and I really have my hopes high on

* Orihime firing Tsubaki (I'0m just cool with him taking of an arm from Yammy... it's the Kubo's fetish and I think it's the ideal thing Orihime can do without make her feel compromised in her character self cause killing it's out of the question with her. yeah I can dream)

* Ishida and Ichigo growing sexual tension around the stabbing moment. I waaant more male bonding between those two, pretty please :D

* Ryuuken and Uryuu resolving their issues :3

* Aizen being PWNED

* Moar power up for Chad, Renji, Rukia, Ishida and Orihime.
